Join us at Friends Place on Capitol Hill or online via Zoom for a conversation about how we can create communities where everyone feels safe. We will be engaging with an intergenerational panel to discuss community violence prevention and holistic, community-centered approaches to address urban community violence. This event aims to raise awareness of community violence prevention strategies during National Gun Violence Awareness Month.

FCNL advocates will discuss how attendees can get involved in the conversation about supporting the funding of community violence interrupter programs on the national and local levels.

What are Violence Interrupter Programs?

Violence interrupter programs are community-based initiatives that use peacebuilding approaches to stop incidents of community violence before they occur. These programs take people who understand the challenges unique to their community and use that knowledge to interrupt violence.
